the prior
three books in the Get Buffed! book sequel.
Three years after the
release of Get Buffed! III and eight years after the
release of the original Get Buffed! book, you now
have Get Buffed! IV - Get
Seriously
Buffed!
No longer a trilogy -
now a quadilogy (I know, no such word!)
Another 300 plus page book jammed with fantastic
content and workout programs, which means you are
guided to an even higher level of training!
This book is the fourth book in the famous
Get Buffed!
sequel, placing it further into the history books as
the only book series in this area of interest with
four sequential, flowing books. The Get Buffed!
range takes you from the original book one through
to this fourth book in a journey of getting bigger,
stronger and or leaner! The book series is supported
by DVDs and other educational/training support
material.
Get Buffed!IV (Get
Seriously Buffed!) a book for those who choose to
make their pursuit of getting bigger, stronger and
or leaner the number one priority in their life at
this stage.
This level of commitment is not for
everyone and certainly not for all stages of ones
life but if you have the opportunity to live part
of your life for training as the most important
daily focus, its a magical time. I have experienced
this life, and share through this book some of the
lessons I learnt, both from my personal experience
of living to train, as well as some wisdoms from
others who also lived stages of their life with this
commitment.
For those who are ready and deserving
exposure to information and inspiration at this
level this book will be extremely rewarding.
For those for whom the content of
this book is beyond where they should be focused at
this stage, I encourage you to take a step back. In
the Foreword to
Get Buffed!
III (Get Totally Buffed!) I cautioned against the
search for the easy way out to success in strength
training, what I called the tragic search for the
golden egg at the end of the rainbow.

Since releasing the Get
Buffed!
IV book in July 2007 it has become apparent that
many are ignoring our
strong recommendation that everyone should progress
through the Get
Buffed!
books from I to IV in that order. Get
Buffed!
IV is not the book to start with! It is the book to
immerse oneself in AFTER one has immersed themselves in
the prior three 3 books. My concern that people would
follow the strong social and human pattern of instant
gratification and want to run before they can crawl has
sadly been confirmed.
We
do not want to be part of reinforcing this. There are
many reasons for this stance, and they include the
undermining of the value of what the Get Buffed!
books can offer. To miss the early content and
programs is tragic - and disrespectful to the power of
this information.
We would anticipate a minimum of 10-12 years of serious
training before implementing the GB IV program. This
program contains concepts that are not suitable to less
experienced or less focused trainers.
We want to ensure our readers/clients understand that
Get Buffed! IV does not supersede or replace the
earlier books. The earlier books are no longer less
valuable. They are a sequence of content
intended to be studied, implemented and internalized in
the sequence they are presented. From GB I through to GB
IV.
To not
respect this sequence reduces the long term benefits of
this beautifully crafted guide.
We would
also expect that the GB IV program be implemented only
by those who life their lives around their training,
whose other activities in each day are minimal, and who
are able to spend the time needed to recover from this
level of training - quasi and professional athletes.
Does this describe
you?
Wanting to 'know' the information is not good enough. I
'know' is an information age malaise - the world is full
of people who teach from a 'know' position - even the
'hard core' bodybuilding media promotes writers who
'know' - but have never done or never lived what they
seek to teach. As a result you are taught that
'knowing' is the goal. Knowing is a step that is
of little more than academic value unless you are at a
position in your life to implement the information in a
manner that results in you being the person who that
information is applicable to. We want you to be ready to
live the experience of this information.
To this end
we have made a decision - we will
only sell this book to those who we can confirm have
ordered the prior three Get Buffed!
books. If you make an order
for this book please send an email at the same time to
orders@kingsports.net stating
when you ordered the prior three books. Thanks.
What others have said
about the Get Buffed!
books!
I
received your book, "Get Buffed", in the mail a few days
back and have not been able to put it down. Great info!
Thanks again!--Mike
I
just read Get Buffed! through and am now reading
through a second time. I wish I had this book when I
first started. Your book is confirming what my body has
been telling me for some time. 1. I need to change my
workouts more often. 2. I need to pay more attention
to recovery. Thanks again!--Wes
I have only positive things to say about your book!
Ian, its a true masterpiece! Its the book I
dreamed of having! I have followed your work on
T-nation and have done all your pre-written programs
like Limping and Super Strength from which I had
excellent results. I am a big fan! Thanks again!--David
I've been a huge Ian King fan ever since he & Lou
Schuler from Men's Health made the 6 phase "Get back
in shape series" a few years ago. I've done my
damndest to adopt his training principles in my
daily routine. I've also tried a couple of programs
of his from T-mag. Currently Im doing "Super
strength for the 2nd time now. I have several of his
DVDs and have read the "Get Buffed" book. Oh
yeah.... I love to dead lift, squat and have
recently added power snatches to my workout!--Stephen
Ian has written a trilogy of books (which I don't
believe exist with other authors in this industry)
entitled Get Buffed! I, II and III. The first book
offers to educate the reader in designing their own
individual program as well as a killer 12 week
program. GB II takes the reader to more advanced
levels of training, deeper appreciation of training
variables and more progressive outstanding workouts.
The three workout options are based on training
age. GB III is unusual in that it provides
additional insight in to Ian's unique philosophies
and methods - it contains five 12week programs, each
with specific purpose eg. Bodybuilding, Strength
Training, Explosive Power, Powerlifting, and Olympic
Lifting. The mastery of detail in each of these
workouts is amazing and makes all the difference!--Mike

I just finished your Get Buffed series and it was a
challenge. I'm a 47 year old male with hypertension.
Before I started I was 214lbs and 35 percent body
fat. Now I am 180lbs and 24 body fat! I also gained
a lot of strength. At the start I had a squat of
165lbs and I finished with 185lbs. In the chins I
could not do one with correct form at the start.
Now I can do 8 with correct form! I believe the dead
lifting and chins really increased my strength.
Thanks for helping to turn my life around!--Cliff
Just wanted to update
my progress from the original Get Buffed program! I
did tremendously well, breaking my doubles records
in all of the focus lifts (bench, Deadlift, Squat,
and Chin) I was very impressed. I have started the
Get Buffed II workout and I will keep the updates
flowing!--Andrew
I just purchased Get
Buffed. What an outstanding book! The book covers
every facet of training. It is certainly the best
book that I have read regarding strength training.
I specifically like the sample routines that are
included. Many authors do not include routines
which is somewhat frustrating. Congratulations on a
fine publication.

Mr.
Ian King, I have read many of your articles from your
website, T-mag and Mens Health. I have also tried your
Great Guns routine and loved it. This past year has
been a good one for me. I started the year a flabby 180
lb at 5ft 9in, in the worst shape of my life. I always
considered myself a healthy person. Through out college
I was very active in sports and socially. But 4yrs
after graduating and working a desk job, I found myself
in poor physical shape with a lack of energy or desire
to socialize and stay active.
Since this
year I have managed to drop a net of 10lbs while significantly
increasing my LBM. I have your articles and programs to thank
for that. My energy level has shot back up and Im doing some
of the things I used to back in college. I did want to thank
you for that!--Ali
