How To Teach Strength Training Exercises Series  (DVD-R)

This program is aimed at those who wish to take their professional abilities way above the rest of the pack.  Those who want to learn the best from the best. And for those who are interested in how to train themselves, who aren’t strength coaches (yet!) – having this program will be just like having a coach to give you guidance in performing the strength exercises listed below.  And not from just any coach!

It has taken Ian decades to develop these techniques – and you can learn them in a fraction of that time because he has chosen to share his unique teaching methods with you.  Save massive amounts of time, money and effort to arrive at these methods!

The information contained in the How To Teach series is invaluable! There are over 100 exercises covered in this program, including the following core lifts and their major variations:

•     Abdominal Exercises.

•     Control Drills for the Upper and Lower Body.

•     General Strength Exercises for the Lower Body.

•     Squat.

•     Dead lift.

What others have said about the How To Teach Strength Training Exercises Series!

I would like to share with you what I have gained from buying the HTT Strength Exercises DVD. First off, let me say that I am not an aspiring coach (yet), but just a regular trainee. But why did I purchase this DVD then? Well, I hoped to get some visual coaching from the world's best as well as learn about the way he likes to see the exercises performed. Were these expectations met? Most certainly, I would say! This video is full of many so many valuable tips and techniques and I feel as if you are teaching them to me directly which is great! After applying the way you like to perform the squat and deadlift for example, I feel that during the lift I am much more stable and in control. In addition to that, I get a better muscle recruitment and the uncomfortable strain in my back I used to experience is gone. The same things apply for all the other exercises, fantastic! I am confident that the content on this DVD means another step of improvement to my training, if not a leap, and recommend it to everyone, trainer or trainee, as seeing Ian work is really fascinating.

I wanted to let you know what I thought of the how to teach books and tapes. I also obtained the How to Write Strength Training Programs book at the same time and feel they nicely complement one another. Excellent! In medical school the old adage while learning to do surgical procedures was 'see one, do one, teach one' . I can honestly say that this applies to the How to Teach Series. Previously I ignored the stability control drills and thought I had the pelvis control down. I was wrong! After watching the tapes and performing the drills for lower body prior to a heavy dead lift or squat day, my technique and focus are greatly improved. There is certainly something to this 'activation' neurally of the targeted area by the control drills. Once again you have proven yourself to be the 'missing link'  between all the information out there and of its practical applications. Keep up the great work!!--Stephen Woodyard

So far, I've had a chance to view the control/stability drills; power clean; and lower body tapes and am impressed.  The body of knowledge you've provided through these tapes, the accompanying HTT book and Get Buffed is invaluable.  Appreciate the clear, straightforward style, and the absence of bells, whistles and BS.  Your instructional technique is clear & concise - very viewer-friendly.--Dan

After watching the ab video I thought since I am squatting next I will learn how to squat your way!  So on Monday, I did my workout (which this phase consists mostly of squats!) and let me tell you squatting your way was different at first and I had to go somewhat lighter but I liked it....until today!   MY QUADS ARE KILLING ME!! I can barely walk! It is unbelievable! I think I have fairly decent quad development but I can't help but wonder where I would be if I had learned from you years ago!  Thanks for pain - and subsequent growth!

Completed the next BOM "B" w/o, week 4-6, the lower body workout. Here's the good part. I got deep into the squat, deeper due to regular and consistent stretching. It felt good. I have been working towards this goal of good squat form for awhile. Set my hips, and could feel that perfect form as I descended into the squat. Ian uses a hand demonstration in his squat video to represent the relationship of the spine and hip in the squat. Well, I took that visualization to task and produced it in my workout. I could feel it and see it in the mirror as I completed my set. Now, I have been working on squat form for 3 or 4 months, so this has not come overnight. Nor, has it felt comfortable or natural at all. Also, at the bottom of the squat, I was able feel comfortable enough with the hip/spine form to drive from the gluteals, boy did this put the focus of the load right on the quads!

So, my reward for 12 months plus of consistent stretching and 3-4 months of working on squat form, is good Coach King form in the squat. Now, I can begin to get the benefits of increasing loads.

Doing it really is such powerful learning technique. It took me a good amount of time to get this far and stretching will take me farther.

Thanks for the great video, Ian, don't really know why the hands demo for the hip/spine stuck with me, but I visualize that every time I squat. It worked for me. --Jeff Morgan

I learnt more from your teachings in a few hours than I have in years. Ian, you have a superb way of revealing what is ALREADY within as far as technique and training efficiency. You've had the greatest impact on my training (both personal and with clients) than anyone else over my 17 years as a trainer and 22 years of training.
--Vince

Pay special attention to Ian's teaching, perhaps more so than to the exercise instruction itself. Ian never shows by doing. He uses a higher level of communication than most to have the athlete learn entirely by doing on their own.
--Darren Stehle

I just wanted to tell you that I love the videos! I have watched the abs video and the squat video so far and am very impressed. I already sent  feedback to you about how impressed I was when I opened the box, but know I am blown away! I am sure these videos and the two books will take my  knowledge to a new level. Keep up the good work!
